Sales Engineer

Understand and present Company’s product offerings and competitive advantages. Identify new business opportunities by creating and implementing campaigns to identified target markets (e.g. channel, role, geography, problem, etc.). Develop account penetration strategies and close business. Develop thorough understanding of each account’s industry and business. Sell products via webinar and telephone.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Contact potential customers via cold calling daily
  • Generate new and repeat business by providing product and technical information regarding the background screening industry
  • Work cooperatively with operations, customer service and account managers to grow existing customers and meet or exceed monthly sales quotas
  • Support onboarding activities as a liaison between new clients and service/operational groups to ensure smooth, timely accurate client setups and initial service
  • Follow-up with leads and close sales

Desired Skills & Experiences:

  • College or University Degree preferred, but not required – sales and marketing major preferred
  • One to three years’ related experience (retail, inside or outside sales, etc.)
  • Enthusiastic and outgoing personality
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive and self-motivated
  • Cold calls will be a part of your daily routine and responsibilities
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of full Microsoft Office Suite products, web conferencing, CRM software as NetSuite and Sales Force, live person chat capabilities, order processing systems and database software.
