Department of Transportation Sets Minimum 2024 Random Drug and Alcohol Testing Rates
Effective on January 1, 2024, the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) – a United States government agency that oversees America’s transportation system – has set the 2024 DOT Random Drug and Alcohol Testing Rates that outline the annual minimum drug and alcohol random testing rates established within DOT Agencies for 2024. Here are the rates: Employers (and C/TPAs) subject to more than one DOT Agency drug and alcohol testing rule may continue to combine covered employees into a single random selection pool. United States Coast Guard (USCG) covered employees may be combined with DOT covered employees in drug testing pools even though the USCG is part of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
