Free Webinar Examines Drug and Alcohol Testing in Transportation Industry

Employers covered by the drug and alcohol testing regulations of the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) must follow strict regulations when conducting drug and alcohol testing of specific safety-sensitive workers. Compliance is mandatory and non-compliance can result in stiff fines or worse. Employers not covered by DOT regulations with safety-sensitive workers in the transportation industry have more flexibility with how and when the test for drugs and alcohol. All of this can be a little intimidating and confusing.

It does not have to be. To help clear up the confusion, Bill Current and Rick Tennant of the Current Consulting Group, LLC (CCG) will present a timely and informative webinar presentation about “Drug & Alcohol Testing in the Transportation Industry” from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time on Wednesday, March 23, 2022. The free webinar is sponsored by ClearStar, a leading provider of Human Capital Integrity℠ technology-based services specializing in background checks and medical screening.

The presenters from CCG, which provides expert consulting in all areas of substance abuse testing, have more than 50 years of combined experience in helping companies comply with the DOT regulations and the specifics of part 40, as well as establishing non-DOT programs that comply with applicable state drug testing laws. They will answer questions during and after the webinar to ensure attendees understand their obligations. The learning objectives of the one hour webinar will include the following:

  • Who is covered by DOT regulations and how to tell if they apply to an employer.
  • What the DOT regulations require of covered employers and employees.
  • The drug and alcohol testing options available to employers if they are not covered by the regulations.
  • How non-DOT and DOT programs differ.
  • Why drug and alcohol testing are important toward achieving a safe transportation industry.
